How do you access GloFAS v4 Seasonal Forecast ensemble data?

In the reference system for this data (https://cds.climate.copernicus.eu/cdsapp#!/dataset/cems-glofas-seasonal?tab=overview) there is no option to get it.

Hi, correct. It is not in CDS. You have to talk to GloFAS directly to get access.

When we set "Past days", what lead time is the forecast displayed?

Because with the change of "Past days", there is no difference in the forecast amount, if the models are updated every 6 hours, and certainly the forecast of 1 day before will be different from the forecast of 3 days before.

Data is continuously updated into a time-series database. Each update overwrite previous data with "newer" forecast data. Data from "past-days" is therefore close to model initialisation and therefore close to measurements.

I am working on an API to data from previous model runs: https://open-meteo.com/en/docs/previous-runs-api. However, this is not available for ensemble models, but only for regular deterministic models with a limited number of weather variables (surface + <200m). The amount of data is immense at 2TB for barely 3 months of data.

Hi there,

I am trying to download temperature_2m with all its members for GFS Ensemble 0.5.

Running on Docker:

docker run -it --rm -v open-meteo-data:/app/data ghcr.io/open-meteo/open-meteo download-gfs gfs05_ens --only-variables temperature_2m

Is this the correct command?

The forecast length is 16 days, instead of 35. Moreover, the first 13 values are null:
